STORM LAKE, Iowa
- After a frustrating start to the season, Augustana earned their first wins of the season, defeating University of Dubuque 8-1 and Buena Vista 7-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings improve to 2-3 on the season after their 2-0 performance.

Augustana 8, Dubuque 1
The Vikings earned their first win of the year in convincing fashion, an 8-1 defeat of Dubuque in the 1 p.m. match. Augustana opened with three convincing doubles wins to start the day.

Jared Hofer and Collin Noldner downed UD's top doubles squad 8-3 and the Vikings' Nos. 2 and 3 doubles pairing each won 8-2.

Hofer suffered his first singles loss of the season, falling 6-2, 6-3 to the lone undefeated Spartan at No. 1 singles. Noldner then answered with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles and Jackson Buchanan posted a 6-2, 6-2 win in the third singles flight.

Colan Surratt rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and Brock Baade registered a 6-1, 6-1 win in the fifth singles flight. Evan Richards put the finishing touches on Augustana's rout with a 6-1, 6-4 win.

Augustana 7, Buena Vista 2
Augustana collected their fourth consecutive win over Buena Vista with a 7-2 victory in the second leg of their Saturday doubleheader. Augustana won five singles matches and three doubles matches to finish the day 2-0.

Hofer and Noldner collected an 8-4 win at the top doubles spot. Buchanan and Baade played No. 2 and won 8-5, but Surratt and Richards were upended in the third flight by the same score.

Hofer got back to his winning ways with a 6-3, 7-5 victory, playing No. 1 singles for the Vikings. Noldner tallied his second singles win of the day, a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2.

Buchanan finished his day with a combined singles and doubles perfect record, winning 6-0, 6-0 in the third flight singles match. Surratt bounced back from his doubles defeat with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Baade equaled his teammates' winning efforts, coming away with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 5 and Richards closed the door on the Beavers at No. 6 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1.

The Vikings stay on the road for another week, heading to Hastings, Neb. to take on Hastings College on Saturday, Feb. 22.
