MATCH SCORES

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.
- Head coach Marc Kurtz earned career win No. 100 with No. 38 Augustana's 9-0 win over visiting Southwest Minnesota State. The Vikings remain unbeaten in 2014 with a 6-0 record, 5-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition, while the Mustangs fall to 1-5 overall, 0-4 in the NSIC.

Kurtz collects his 100th win as the Augustana head coach for the past six seasons. Since 2010, the Vikings have strung together 48 consecutive NSIC regular-season wins, including four NSIC titles.

The Vikings dominated Friday night, much like they have since Kurtz's tenure began. Augustana cruised in all three doubles matches, dropping just one game at No. 1 doubles. Nos. 2 and 3 doubles cruised to 8-0 wins, giving the Vikings a 3-0 edged entering singles competition.

At No. 1 singles, Katie Jesperson battled an inconsistent start before returning to her steady, dominant style of play. Jesperson came away with her seventh win of the season, a 6-2, 6-0 victory to get the Vikings started in singles.

Jessa Richards overcame a sluggish start and ending to her match, but still came away with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. No. 3 singles player Francesca Beg continues to improve and showed off her overpowering game with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

Christine Olivo's steady play gave her a seventh straight win to start the season, this time in 6-2, 6-0 fashion at No. 4 singles. Jenna Helleberg rolled in her No. 5 singles match, winning 6-0, 6-0 for the second time this season.

Earning the No. 6 singles spot for the weekend, Meredith Lawrence showcased varying styles of play on the way to a 6-0 6-0 win and the Vikings' fifth 9-0 win of the season.

The Vikings return to the court on Feb. 23 when they host Minnesota Crookston at 9 a.m. in the friendly confines of Sioux Empire Fitness.
