OMAHA, NEB. The fourth and final round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Championship at Tiburon Golf Course has been canceled due to poor weather conditions in the Omaha area the league announced Sunday.
Augustana finished in sixth place for the tournament after posting a 299 third-round score on Saturday to bring its total to 942 (78 over par) for the event. The Vikings finished just four shots behind Minnesota Crookston.
St. Cloud State was declared the winner by leading after the third round with a 26-over-par score of 890 (296-303-291), 30 shots ahead of runner-up Concordia-St. Paul.
Tyler Koivisto (St. Cloud State), Ross Miller (Minnesota State), Devin Holmes (St. Cloud State), Charlie West (St. Cloud State), Kowan O'Keefe (Minot State), and Adam Petterson (Concordia-St. Paul) were named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team. Koivisto earned medalist honors with a three-round score of 219 (73-73-73).
Clay Kopplin finished tied for 10th after posting a 232 (79-77-76) in his three rounds of play.
Drew Trautman's 238 (84-78-76) score in the tournament put him in a tie for 20th.
John Grothe tied for 30th after putting up a 246 (85-87-74) on the scorecard for his three rounds.
Collin Hammer shot a 73 in his lone round at the NSIC Championship.
Kyle Kopplin fired a 76 on Saturday in his one round of play.
The Vikings will return to the course in the fall for the 2014-15 men's golf season.
