Soccer set to host two games against Upper Iowa and No. 10 Winona State this weekend

Storylines
• The Vikings play host for a pair of games against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents.
• First up, Augustana takes on Upper Iowa (3-0, 0-1 NSIC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
• The Vikings look to avenge last season's 1-0 shutout loss to the Peacocks, the only team that shutout Augustana in 2013.
• The Vikings take on No. 10 Winona State on Sunda are Morstad Field.
• Starting time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

• This will be the eighth meeting all-time between the Augustana and Upper Iowa.
• The Peacocks lead the series 5-1-1.
• The Vikings last won on Oct. 11, 2008 in a 2-1 win.
• Augustana has lost the last four meetings against Upper Iowa.
• The Vikings and the Warriors meet up for the 12th time on Sunday afternoon.

Vikings Post Two Shutouts Last Week
• The Vikings put up two dominant efforts last weekend against their competition.
• Augustana recorded back-to-back shutout victories over Wayne State and Missouri Western State.
• The Vikings opened NSIC play in style with a 4-0 win against Wayne State.
Samantha Arnold powered Augustana in limited action.
• Arnold scored two goals and had a assist in 28 minutes the Vikings.
• It was the first multi-goal game of the freshman forward's collegiate career.
Samantha Tymkowicz also netted her second goal of the year in the win.
Kirsten Smith recorded her first goal of 2014 in the contest off a pass by Payton Pry.
Emily Jacobson tallied her first assist of her collegiate career on Arnold's second goal at the 70:28 mark in the match.
• Augustana pushed its winning streak to three with a 2-0 victory of the Griffons on Sunday in Joplin, Mo.
• Senior Annie Thoresen got her first goal of the season, scoring in the 20th minute to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.
• Pry upped her season goal total to three with a goal in the 24th minute of regulation
• The duo of Ashley Limmer and Taylor Machacek in goal preserved the shutout for Augustana.
• It was Limmer's seventh career shutout that she has recorded for the Vikings.

• Arnold has gotten off to a fast start in her first four games for Augustana.
• The freshman forward is tied the team lead with three goals.
• Arnold is also tied with Pry for the team lead in points with seven (three goals, one assist).
• The Council Bluffs, Iowa native is tied for first in NSIC in goals in conference games with two.

Payton's Place  
• Pry has made a major impact early this year for the Vikings.
• The senior's three goals through just four games is one short of her career high, set last season.
• The Lawton, Iowa natives seven points are also just three off her career high of 10, also set in 2013.
• Pry has deadly when taking a shot on goal this year, shooting a .833 (five of six).

All Eyes on Me
• Augustana's hot start hasn't gone unnoticed by fellow coaches around the country.
• The Vikings are currently receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25 Coaches' Poll as of Sept. 16.
• Augustana jumped up one spot in the NSCAA Regional rankings, moving to No. 4 after a strong showing last week.
