DULUTH, Minn. – No. 9 Augustana College men's basketball shot 59 percent from 3-point range in a 95-69 win over the University of Minnesota Duluth (9-9, 6-6 NSIC) on Saturday evening.
Daniel Jansen registered his second straight double-double, finishing with a team-high 29 points and 10 rebounds, and knocking down a career-high 14 free throws to help the Vikings improve to 17-1 on the season, including 11-1 in NSIC play.
How it happened• Minnesota Duluth jumped out to a six-point lead at 10-4 through the first three and half minutes of the contest getting two early 3-pointers from Brett Ervin and Brendon Pineda.
• The two teams would play evenly over the next three and three-plus minutes, each scoring eight points as the Bulldogs held on to an 18-12 lead.
• Daniel Jansen sparked a 7-2 run for the Vikings, drilling a 3-pointer from the left wing and getting to the line four times and converting all four to cut UMD's lead to 20-19.
• The Bulldogs pushed the lead back to three but
Tanner Odegaard came off the bench and scored the Vikings' next two buckets on 3-pointers to give his team their first lead of the night at 25-24 with 9:02 remaining in the half.
• The Vikings would take over from there, out-scoring Minnesota Duluth 30-15 over the last nine minutes of the first half to take a 52-39 lead at the break.
