SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –
No. 6 Augustana College men's basketball drilled a season-high 17 3-pointers and Tom Billeter won his 200th game as the Vikings' head coach in a 97-68 win over Winona State University (9-8, 6-7 NSIC) at the Sioux Falls Arena on Friday night. The Vikings (18-1, 12-1 NSIC) have now won 11 straight games and have scored 90-plus points in four straight.
 
Tom Billeter is now 200-139 in 12 seasons at Augustana. He is just three wins away from his 300th career victory as he has compiled a 297-189 record in 17 seasons as a collegiate head coach.
 
Augustana shot 57 percent from the field and knocked down 17 of 29 3-pointers (58 percent) led by Casey Schilling who finished with 25 points and hit a career-high four 3-pointers. Tanner Odegaard matched his career-high, for the third time this season, with 12 points on four 3-pointers.  
 
How it happened
• Winona State held an early 9-4 advantage after a Riley Bambanek 3-pointer but the Vikings answered with a 3-point barrage to overcome the deficit and build an early lead.
• Augustana hit five 3-pointers in the middle of a 17-3 run over the next five minutes to take a 21-12 lead.
• During the stretch, Jordan Spencer drilled two 3-pointers before Tanner Odegaard came off the bench to hit two straight 3-pointers.
• Mark Blacklock ended the run with a 3-pointer of his own but the Vikings started another to push the run to 25-6 and take a 29-15 lead with 7:58 to play in the half.
• Casey Schilling turned it on in the first half as he helped the Vikings build a 37-20 lead, scoring 14 points in a five minute stretch.
• After taking over the lead with 14:06 to play in the first half, the Vikings went on a 40-18 run over the remainder of the half.
• Schilling hit a career-high four 3-pointers in the first half and led the Vikings with 20 points.
• Augustana hit 10 of 13 3-pointers in the first half and shot 59 percent from the field (16-27).
• Odegaard finished the half with nine points on three 3-pointers.
• Jordan Spencer was 2 of 2 from behind the arc and pitched in with eight first-half points.
• The Vikings forced seven first-half turnovers and had three blocks and six steals.
• Augustana picked up right where it left off in the first half drilling 3-pointers on its first two possessions of the second half.
• The Vikings pushed their lead to 30 and never let the Warriors get within more than 20 throughout the remainder of the game.
