SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 13 Augustana College men's basketball drilled a season-high 12 3-pointers and rolled to an 82-47 win over the University of Sioux Falls on Friday night at the Stewart Center. The Vikings improved to 12-1 on the season (6-1 NSIC) and are off to their best start since starting the 2009-10 season 13-1.
How it happened• USF took its only lead of the game after making a 3-pointer to open the scoring in the game and the Vikings took over from building a 10-point lead just seven minutes into the game.
• Alex Richter got the Vikings off to a fast start scoring eight of the team's first 11 points.
• Richter scored 14 of his 15 points in the first half alone.
• Augustana shot 50 percent (12 of 24) from the field in the first half, knocking down 5 of 13 from 3-point range.
• Steven Schaefer gave the Vikings a spark off the bench drilling two big 3-pointers in the first half.
• Schaefer sparked a 12-6 run over the final 3:41 of the first half hitting both of his 3-pointers during the stretch.
• Augustana jumped all over the Cougars to start the second half going on a 25-7 run over the first nine minutes to take a 32-point lead of 65-33.
