No. 13 Augustana College men's basketball shot 55 percent from the field and knocked down a season-high 14 3-pointers in a 96-77 win over Southwest Minnesota State University (9-5, 5-3 NSIC). The Vikings improved to 13-1 on the season, matching its best start since the 2009-10 season. Augustana sits at 7-1 in NSIC play.
 
How it happened
• Southwest Minnesota State attacked inside early and built an early five-point lead at 8-3 with 16:51 remaining in the first half.
• The Vikings answered with nine straight points to take their first lead of the game at 9-8 after a basket by Jansen.
• After SMSU regained the lead at 13-11 on a 3-pointer by Turner Moen, the Vikings went on a 23-10 over the next six minutes to take a 34-23 lead.
• The Vikings hit six 3-pointers during that stretch, including back-to-back triples by Tanner Odegaard.
• SMSU got within six before the Vikings were able to build a 14-point lead just before the end of the half.
• Augustana led 47-35 at the break and finished the first half shooting 51 percent from the field.
• The Vikings hit seven 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes, including three from Odegaard.
• SMSU was just 3 of 11 from 3-point range in the first half but finished 16 of 32 (50 percent) from the field.
