SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- No. 20 Augustana pushed its unbeaten streak to seven with a 1-0 victory over Bemidji State on Saturday at Morstad field. With the win, the Vikings improved to 7-1-1, 5-0-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, while the Beavers dropped to 5-4-0, 2-4-0 in the NSIC on the year.

Kirsten Smith scored the lone goal for Augustana, upping her total to three on the season. Stephanie Stevens picks up her team-leading fourth assist of 2015.

In the first half, Smith tried to get the Vikings on the board early, but BSU's Anna Fobbe came up with a big save in net. Both teams had good chances in the half, including Stevens, whose shot just went off the post in the 36th minute of the opening half, keeping the match scoreless. Augustana outshot Bemidji State 7-3 in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Smith and Samantha Tymkowicz both had solid chances early, but the Beavers' defense came up with several saves to keep the game all even at 0-0. A well-struck Emily Jacobson ball had a chance to put the Vikings ahead but Fobbe came up with the fingertip save.

Smith broke open the scoreless match with the game-winner on a one-touch shot from a cross from Stevens, putting Augustana up 1-0 in the 83rd minute. After the goal, the Vikings' defense clamped down preventing any chance from BSU to equalize, and securing their fourth straight shutout and fifth in the last six matches.

Augustana will be back in action tomorrow as they host Minnesota Crookston (2-6-1, 2-4 NSIC) at 1 p.m.
