MANKATO, Minn. - Augustana University soccer (19-2-1) picked up its first NCAA Tournament victory in program history defeating Harding University (13-4-2) 2-1 on Friday afternoon in Mankato, Minn.
Samantha Tymkowicz would get the Vikings on the board first in the 15th minute when she gather a pass from
Kirsten Smith in the box to put it home. The goal was Tymkowicz's 15th goal of the season, Smith would get her fourth assist on the play.
Meg Thacker would pick up the additional assist.
Harding would tie it up in the 42nd minute on a goal from Audrey Adkison with a shot just outside the box beating goalie
Taylor Machacek.
Tymkowicz would get her second goal of the game in the 74th minute, when she got a through ball from
Kallie Nordberg and beat the goalie top-shelf to make it 2-1 for Augustana. This was Tymkowicz's 16th of the season and her 3rd two-goal game of the season. Nordberg would pick up her second assist of the season.
Harding would get a couple of chances in the box from corner kicks, but the Vikings defense would hang tough clearing those attempts.
Machacek would stop seven Lady Bison's shots in route to the victory.

Augustana will take on Minnesota State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Mankato, Minn.
