INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana University football (9-2) earned the No. 5 seed in Super Region Three and will travel to Arcata, Calif. to take on No. 4 seed Humboldt State University (9-1) on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. (CT).
This marks the fourth NCAA Playoff appearance in program history, Augustana's first since 2010.
The Vikings finished 9-2 this season, winning a share of the NSIC South Division title at 6-1 in divisional play. The nine wins in 2015 marks just the second time in program history Augustana has won nine or more games in a season. Augustana won a program-best 11 games in 2010.
Augustana has made NCAA Playoff appearances in 2010, 1989 and 1988. The Vikings are 1-3 all-time in the NCAA Playoffs and won their first playoff game with a 38-6 win over No. 6 Grand Valley State at Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Nov. 27, 2010.
Humboldt State is making its first NCAA Playoff appearance since 1968. The Lumberjacks finished the season 9-1, including a 6-0 mark against Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents.
Located in Sioux Falls, S.D., Augustana University is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
