WAYNE, Neb. - The Augustana women's basketball program (3-1, 0-1 NSIC) tasted defeat for the first time this season, falling at the hands of No. 24 Wayne State College (4-1, 1-0 NSIC) 70-58 on Wayne, Neb.
The Vikings never led in this one, only enjoying a few ties early in the game. Augustana only shot 30 percent from from the field, their lowest total so far this season. They also struggled from behind the arc against Wayne State, going 10-31 for a 32 percent clip.
Not Getting To The LineSo far this season the Vikings have been excellent getting to the free-throw line and making teams pay for fouling them. In their previous three games Augustana had been to the charity stripe a total of 58 times, knocking down 43 for a 74 percent free-throw shooting percentage as a team. On Monday they only got to the line four times, making two of them. Part of that is because Wayne State only committed 11 personal fouls in the game.

For the second consecutive game Augustana has committed 18 turnovers and Wayne State turned those 18 turnovers into 22 points.
