SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- No. 23 Augustana women's soccer continues it's winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Northern State Sunday at Morstad Field. With the victory the Vikings improve to 6-1-1, 4-0-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, with the loss the Wolves drops its record to 4-3-1, 2-2-1 in the NSIC.
Stephanie Stevens scored the game winning goal for Augustana, her third goal of the season. 
Samantha Tymkowicz scored again for the Vikings, her seventh goal of the season.
In the first half, 
Kirsten Smith had a chance to put Augustana up early but Brittany Tietz just got her fingertips on the ball to put it over the net. 
Emily Jacobson had a chance in the 23rd minute but the shot just hit the post.
The defense for Augustana limited Northern State to just one shot in the first half.
In the second half, Stevens, Jacobson and Tymkowicz all had chances to put the Vikings ahead but Tietz came up with big saves to keep the game scoreless.
In the 82nd minute, Stevens took a pass from 
Ellie Knowles she dribbled to the right side of the box and shot one that deflected off the left post and in to make it 1-0 for Augustana.
Just two minutes later Tymkowicz took a pass from 
Meg Thacker, dribbled passed the Wolves defense and buried one home to make it 2-0.
The Vikings defense allowed four shots in the entire game. 
Taylor Machacek picks up her fifth shutout of the season.
Augustana will be home next weekend as they continue NSIC play against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
