Augustana's Jansen and Schilling named to Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Augustana University senior basketball student-athletes Daniel Jansen and Casey Schilling have been named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, Small College Basketball announced Friday morning.
 
The list consists of 100 of the finest men's basketball players in the country who compete in NCAA Division II & III, NAIA Division I & II, USCAA and NCCAA. Members of the Bevo Francis Award committee chose the top 100 watch list student-athletes from over 1,100 colleges and universities and took into consideration individual statistics, previous awards, milestones and team success.
 
Small College Basketball will release the top 50 watch list on Feb. 15, and the top 25 on March 15. The finalists will be announced on April 1.
 
Jansen, a senior from Orange City, Iowa, currently leads the team in scoring averaging 19.4 points per game to go along with 7.9 rebounds per contest. He has scored in double-digits in 12 of 13 games in 2015-16, including 20-plus points in seven games. Jansen has scored 1,806 career points at Augustana recently moving into fourth all-time in program history. He is just 158 points shy of the all-time record. He also is chasing the NSIC scoring title having scored 1,272 points in 76 career conference games which puts him fifth all-time and 183 points shy of the all-time record. Jansen currently ranks 12th all-time at Augustana in rebounding with 711 career boards. He is a three-time All-NSIC First Team selection who was named freshman of the year in 2012-13 and player of the year by the conference last season. Jansen was named to five All-America teams last season and was tabbed Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year.
 
Schilling, a senior from Ellsworth, Minn., is averaging 17.7 points per game and a league-leading 9.4 rebounds per game in 2015-16. He has scored in double-figures in 12 of 13 games this season while grabbing double-digits in rebounds a team-high six times. Schilling leads the team with five double-doubles giving him 26 for his career. He also leads the team with 20 steals and 10 blocks and has dished out 2.2 assists per game this season. Schilling currently ranks 11th all-time at Augustana in scoring (1,598 points) and seventh in rebounding (780). Schilling has the third-most rebounds of all active Division II players and the 22nd-most at any NCAA level. Schilling is a two-time All-NSIC First Team selection who was named the NSIC's Defensive Player of the Year last season. He was named to two All-America teams last season and was named the Most Valuable Player of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament in 2014-15.
 
Jansen and Schilling are two of just 15 active players in all of NCAA basketball (Division I, II or III) to have scored 1,500-plus career points and grab 600-plus career rebounds.
