SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University football will play its final home game of the 2016 season on Saturday, Oct. 29 when the Vikings host Winona State University (6-2, 3-1 NSIC South). The Vikings 5-3, 2-2 NSIC South) and Warriors will do battle in NSIC South Division play at 1 p.m. at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.
Augustana will celebrate Senior Day prior to Saturday's game. The Vikings will honor 14 seniors prior to the game, including
Lucas Wainman,
Trey Heid,
Charlie Hayes,
Matt Heller,
Jackie Davis,
Nevin Andreas,
Nick Brant,
Malcolm Willett,
Dylan Baker,
Chris Mathieu,
Kyle Griffin,
Jake Bartscher,
Nate Winter and
Bryson Hamilton.
Saturday's game will be the 11th all-time between Augustana and Winona State. The Vikings are 6-4 all-time against Winona State and have won two straight games over the Warriors. Last season's game between the two teams came down to the last play of the game.

Augustana enters Saturday's game leading the NSIC and ranked seventh in the country averaging 43.4 points per game. The Vikings put up a season-high 652 yards of offense last week at Upper Iowa and currently rank 12th in the country averaging 512.4 yards of offense per game on the year. Augustana has the sixth-best passing attack in the country at 353.9 yards per game.
Heid needs just three touchdown passes to set a new single season record. Heid has thrown 30 touchdowns in 2016 and is three shy of passing former teammate Josh Hanson's record of 32 which he set in 2012.
Senior wide receiver
Matt Heller has 995 receiving yards to go along with a league-high 14 touchdown receptions in 2016. Heller is five yards shy of his second straight 1,000-yard receiving season. He also needs just four touchdown receptions to tie the single season record at Augustana. That would also give him the all-time career record. He enters Saturday's game with 31 career touchdown catches. Matt Holmlund holds the career record with 35 touchdown catches from 1998-2001.
