Women's Tennis start their spring break trip with two victories on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla.- Augustana women's tennis opened up their spring break trip with two 9-0 victories over George Fox and Connecticut College on Sunday. The two wins give the Vikings a 13-1 record on the season.

In doubles action, the No. 1 doubles team of Kornelia Staniszewska and Jessa Richards defeated their opponents Kristen Mock and Sarah Tuemmler 8-0. Sydney Postal and Berkley Darr improved to 11-2 on the year with an 8-3 victory over Catrina Kwong and Ellen Pearson. Meredith Lawrence and Kaitlyn Motley completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win over Andrea Motley and Ali Diehl.

In singles matches, Staniszewska won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 over Tuemmler in No. 1 singles. Richards is on a five-match winning streak with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Kwong in No. 2 singles.

Postal was victorious in No. 3 singles over Taylor Barnes 6-0, 6-1. Darr won a tough three-set match 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 over Pearson in No. 4 singles. Christine Olivo won her match at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-14 to improve to 9-3 on the year. Lawrence completed the 9-0 sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Diehl

Kornelia Staniszewska and Berkley Darr, in No. 1 doubles, defeated Aleksandra Drljaca and Charlotte Marcoux 8-2. Meredith Lawrence and Kaitlyn Motley moved up to No.2 doubles and won 8-1 over Jillian Brigandi and Aneeka Kalia 8-1. Sydney Postal and Katie McLaughlin completed the doubles sweep 8-2 over Brinley Bartlett and Susanna Studwell.

Staniszewska went 2-0 on the day with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Drljaca. Jessa Richards won her match in No. 2 singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 over Migliorini. Postal was victorious over Marcoux 6-2, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.

Darr won her match at No. 4 singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 over Angelica Warren. Christine Olivo won her match over Susanna Studwell 7-6, 6-1 in No. 5 singles. Meredith Lawrence capped off the Sunday with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Mariah Warren in No. 6 singles.

Augustana continues their spring break trip as they battle against Eckerd College Tuesday at 2 p.m.
