WAYNE, Neb. - Alex Fink hit his 55th career double Friday afternoon, becoming the program's all-time leader in doubles, as Augustana (26-10, 17-3 NSIC) earned two victories over Wayne State College (8-21, 5-9 NSIC).
GAME ONE
Runs were plentiful for each team in game one against Wayne State College as both the Vikings and Wildcats combined to score 33 runs in their seven inning affair.
In the first three innings of the game it looked like the Vikings hitting and pitching were on point as they scored eight runs and only allowed two in the first inning. The game broke open however in the fourth.
Already holding an 8-2 lead, Augustana rallied for four more runs in the fourth, starting with Patrick O'Donnell who doubled to right center scoring Justin Warne. Alex Beals hit an RBI single while TJ Davis also hit a single, driving in two of his four RBIS in the game.
With the Vikings holding onto a 12-2 lead Wayne State found it's strength in the bottom of the fourth. After getting an RBI single and an RBI walk the bases were loaded for Boddie Cooper who hit a grand slam to cut the Vikings lead to just four. In the fifth inning the Wildcats used back-to-back home runs to make the score 12-10 Vikings.
After not scoring in the fifth, the Vikings put up double-digit runs in the sixth inning. O'Donnell led things off with a home run with their second run of the inning coming on a sac fly from Ryan Menssen. Tyler Field, Lucas Wilber and O'Donnell all had RBI singles, O'Donnells was a two RBI single. Alex Fink then made history with his 55th double of his career at Augustana to score both O'Donnell and Warne. Fiala would get the final run of the inning on a home run to left field.

GAME TWO
The Vikings started out quietly in game two, not registering a run until the fourth inning, and then erupting to score at least one run in each of the next five innings.
Trailing 1-0 early after WSC scored a run in the second the Vikings put up four runs in the fourth inning getting their first two runs and taking the lead on a Field triple to left center field scoring Davis and Barry. Later in the inning O'Donnell singled scoring Warne and Beals doubled to left scoring Fiala.
In the fifth inning Fiala got things started by reaching base on a throwing error by the short stop. One batter later Beals doubled to left again scoring Fiala and picking up an RBI.
In the top of the sixth the Vikings kept their foot on the pedal scoring two more runs. With two outs in the inning O'Donnell doubled down the left field line. Fink switched places with O'Donnell after a double of his own and later scored on a Fiala single up the middle.
After Davis and Field each reached base in the seventh Wilber sacrificed himself to move both runners into scoring position. Warne then singled through the right side to score both runners and make it 9-1 Vikings. O'Donnell followed Warne's single with a single of his own. The final run of the inning came when Fink ground out to second scoring Warne.
Augustana's final run of the game was scored in the eighth inning when Field reached on a fielding error by the second basemen. The Viking run gave Augustana a 10-run lead and enacting the mercy rule and giving the Vikings an 11-1 win in game two.
