SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana soccer will begin the grind of the conference schedule this weekend with a trip to North Dakota for a pair of road games. The Vikings go into the weekend with a 1-2-1 (0-0-1 NSIC) record two weeks into the season. Augustana opened conference play with a tie at Wayne State before ending non-conference play with a loss to Nebraska-Kearney.
Scouting Minot State
The Vikings open the weekend with a match in Minot, N.D. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. against Minot State. Minot State comes into the match with a 1-1 record having defeated Black Hills State and losing to No. 16 Fort Hayes State.
Augustana holds the edge in the series against Minot State with a 4-1 record all-time. The Vikings have won three straight matchups against Minot State, including twice last season.
The Vikings defeated the Beavers in Minot, N.D. last season 2-1 and again in the NSIC Tournament Semifinals in Mankato, Minn. 2-1.
Scouting U-Mary
Augustana concludes the weekend against U-Mary on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. in Bismarck, N.D. U-Mary enters the weekend with a 0-1-1 record and will play Wayne State on Sept. 17.
The Vikings hold a 4-3-1 series advantage over the Marauders and have won two straight matchups. The Vikings defeated the Marauders in Bismarck, N.D. last season 2-1 in overtime.
