SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the first time this season Augustana soccer won't have to travel and will host a pair of matches on Saturday and Sunday. The Vikings are riding a three game winning streak entering this weekend and have improved to 4-3-1 (3-1-1 NSIC) on the season. Augustana won their home opener against Upper Iowa last Friday and defeated Winona State in a hard-fought match last Sunday.
 
Scouting MSU Moorhead
The Vikings will kick off their weekend at home against MSU Moorhead at 11 a.m. on Oct. 1 at Morstad Field. The Dragons come into the match with a 2-5 (1-4 NSIC) record. Last week the Dragons fell to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.
 
Augustana leads the all-time series with a 14-1 mark over MSU Moorhead. Augustana has won the last 14 games between the two, including a 2-0 win in Sioux Falls last year.
 
Scouting Northern State
Augustana will have a quick turnaround taking on Northern State at 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 and Morstad Field. The Wolves enter the match with a 4-3 (2-3 NSIC) record and will play against Wayne State on Oct. 1 before taking on Augustana.
 
The all-time series between Augustana and Northern State is all knotted up at 8-8-1. Augustana has won the last five matchups against Northern State, including defeating the Wolves, 2-0 at Morstad Field last season.
 
NSIC Players of the Week
Augustana University juniors Brooke Bleeker and Taylor Machacek were named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Players of the Week the league office announced this week. Bleeker was named Defensive Player of the Week and Machacek was named Goalie of the Week.
 
The Homestead at Morstad
- Augustana moved to their on campus soccer facility in Sept. 2009 and it would be named Morstad Field in honor of alumni Kent and Judy Morstad in 2011
