SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana soccer is set to kick off week two of the season with a pair of road games in the state of Nebraska. The Vikings enter week two with a record of 1-1. Augustana defeated Southwest Baptist 6-1 to open the season but fell to No. 5 Central Missouri, 3-0, to conclude last weekend.
Scouting Wayne State
The Vikings will open conference play on Friday, Sept. 9 at Wayne State at 5 p.m. in Wayne, Neb. It will be the fifth straight season where Augustana starts NSIC play against Wayne State. Wayne State enters the match with a 2-0 record and will play Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 7.
Augustana owns 8-3-1 record all-time against the Wildcats and have won the six straight contests and eight of the last nine games against them. Last season, the Vikings defeated the Wildcats in Wayne, Neb. 2-0.
Scouting Nebraska-Kearney
Augustana will conclude their non-conference schedule by traveling to Kearney, Neb. to take on Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. The Lopers come into the game with a 1-1 record and will play Wayne State on Sept. 7.
Augustana holds a 2-1 record all-time against Nebraska-Kearney. The Vikings have won the last two meetings and won last year's match in Sioux Falls, 2-0.
