Samantha Tymkowicz did what she does best and provided the offense for the Augustana women's soccer team (9-2-2, 8-1-1 NSIC) in its 1-0 win over Minnesota Crookston (0-11-1, 0-9-1 NSIC). Tymkowicz's goal moved her up on Augustana's all-time charts.
Tymkowicz scored the earliest goal of the season for the Vikings in the third minute, giving the Vikings a 1-0 advantage. She headed a cross from
Reiley Klose to give Augustana the only score of the match.
???????Tymkowicz's goal was her fourth of the season and the 31st of her career, moving her into second place on the Augustana all-time list. Tymkowicz also moved into a tie for second all-time in points with 70.
This was Augustana's seventh 1-0 win on the season and its ninth shutout. The season record for shutouts for the Vikings is 11 that was set in 2015.
Augustana outshot Minnesota Crookston 24-2 and had season-high 15 shots on goal compared to two by the Golden Eagles. The two shots by the Golden Eagles was a season-low allowed by the Vikings.

Taylor Machacek recorded her ninth shutout of the season and the 26th of her career. Machacek is two shutouts away from tying her own school record of 11 that she set in 2015.
Augustana sets its sights on a big matchup against No. 22 Bemidji State (11-0-1, 9-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Bemidji, Minn. at 1 p.m.
