SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana swimming team continued their 2017 season with two duals on the weekend. On Friday night, the VIkings traveled to Mankato, Minn. to take on Minnesota State.
Freshman
Taylor Beagle won the 500 yard freestyle race with a time of 5:16.84 while sophomore
Emma Miller took home a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:57.13. The Vikings final first place finish on the night came in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The relay included sophomore
Destini Oehlertz, sophomore
Hannah Gonzalez, Miller and freshman
Kelsey Gilbert.
Augustana lost the dual to the Mavericks 140-115.
On Saturday, the Vikings welcomed MSU Moorhead to the Elmen Center.
Beagle won the 1650 yard freestyle for her second first place finish on the weekend. The Lead, S.D. native finished with a time of 18:07.27. Miller also finished in first for the second time on the weekend, winning the 500 yard freestyle. Her championship time was 5:23.02.
In the second dual on the weekend, the Dragons defeated the Vikings 155-107.
Augustana returns to action Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. when they host U-Mary in the Elmen Center.
