Soccer Gets No. 1 Central Missouri in the NCAA Second Round

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - With No. 4 seed Augustana soccer (14-3-5) advancing past No. 5 seed Bemidji State in the NCAA first round, the Vikings set up a David vs. Goliath matchup against No. 1 seed Central Missouri (21-0-0).

The Vikings and Jennies will play in Warrensburg, Mo. on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. in the Central Region semifinals. Augustana and Central Missouri met in the second game of the season in Sioux Falls with the Jennies winning 5-0.

The Jennies earned an automatic bid to the Central Regional after winning the MIAA tournament for the fourth straight season.Central Missouri earned four top honors in the MIAA: Jada Scott was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year, Kayla Hamner was named the Defender of the Year, Ana Dilkes was named the Goalkeeper of the Year and Lewis Theobald was named the Coach of the Year. Central Missouri had six first team All-MIAA selections and three second team honorees.

The Jennies are ranked #1 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 poll and have giving up three goals all season, which leads Division II. Abby Rhodes leads the Jennies in goals with 15 and Jada Scott leads the way in assists (10) and points (38) Ana Dilkes broke the NCAA DII record for most career shutouts (60) and is 21-0-0 this season with 18 shutouts

Central Missouri leads the all-time series, 4-0, winning all four games by a combined score of 12-1. The Vikings are 0-2 in Warrensburg against the Jennies and 1-3-1 all-time.

How the Vikings Got Here
Augustana outlasted Bemidji State in the NCAA first round, by defeating the Beavers 5-3 in a shootout. Augustana earned the No. 4 seed in the Central Region after earning an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
