SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Using 10 first place finishes, the Augustana swimming team rolled U-Mary, 163-99, at the Elmen Center pool Friday night.
The final home swim meet of the season started out nicely for the Vikings as they took first place finishes in the first three events.
Jojo Lohner,
Micah Hudlet,
Linzie Kreizel and
Hannah Gonzalez took first place in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:10.06.
In the second event, freshman
Kelsey Gilbert won the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:46.35, while
Taylor Beagle won the 200 yard freestyle in the third event with a time of 1:58.44.
Katie Viana won the 100 yard backstroke (1:08.33) while Hudlet won her second race of the day in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.92.)
Sophomore
Destini Oehlertz finished in first place in back-to-back events. The Laurens, Iowa native won the 50 yard freestyle (25.26) and the 100 yard freestyle (54.80) Friday night.
In the women 200 yard freestyle, Hudlet continued her winning ways, picking up a first place finish for the third time on the evening, winning the 200 yard breastroke (2:23.96.) Beagle came back to win her second event of the night, finishing first in the 500 yard freestyle (5:14.02.)
Emma Miller, Beagle, Gilbert and Oehlertz concluded the meet with an 800 yard freestyle relay first place finish (8:04.92.)
Augustana returns to action Saturday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Morningside.
