MANKATO, Minn. - The No. 3 seeded Augustana women's soccer team (14-3-4) falls short against No. 1 seed Minnesota State (17-2-2), 2-0, in the NSIC tournament championship in Mankato, Minn. on Sunday afternoon.
Minnesota State scored its goals in the 10th minute and the 50th minute to win the match 2-0. The Mavericks outshot the Vikings 29-3.
Taylor Machacek recorded a career-high 13 saves on the match.
Augustana had four players earn NSIC all-tournament honors. The Vikings honored were:
Samantha Tymkowicz,
Mackenzie Main,
Rebekah Thoresen and
Hannah Keirstead.
The Vikings are now 1-2 all-time in the NSIC tournament finals after making the last three finals. Augustana is now 7-7 all-time in the NSIC tournament with all seven wins coming in the last three seasons.
Augustana will now await its regional fate as the regions will be announced on Monday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com via webcast.
