SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second straight weekend, the Augustana women's soccer returns to the road for another pair of NSIC matches. The four game road trip marks the longest period of time the Vikings have been on the road this season. The Vikings are coming off of a loss and a draw, both coming from overtime play. Following this weekends games, the team returns to Morstad Field for three more conference games before hitting the road for their regular season final vs. the Golden Bears of Concordia-St. Paul.
Scouting Augustana:
Playing on the road for the sixth and seventh time this season, the Vikings wrapped up their two games with a 0-1-1 record. On Friday, Augustana battled through 90 minutes of regulation and two minutes of overtime, but came up short against Winona State falling 2-1 in overtime. On Sunday the team also played extra soccer, ending with a 1-1 draw against Upper Iowa. The tie brings the Vikings to 7-3-2 (6-2-1 NSIC) on the year. Augustana, who has played in 7 overtime games this year, is now 3-2-2 playing in extra time in 2018. Coming into the weekend the Vikings are still led by
Alexis Legg with eight goals and 17 points. Following Legg is senior
Julie Plonsky with three goals and seven points. The senior keeps climbing the record books, with her three goals scored this season which brings her to eight total goals over the course of her career.
Scouting Northern State University:
Northern State University fell to St. Cloud State University this past weekend with a final score of 2-0. With the loss, the Wolves drop to 6-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in conference play. The Wolves are led by Darian Leschewski with five goals and one assist. Sitting right behind Leschewski is Shianne Rosselli with four goals and two assists.
Scouting MSU Moorhead:
The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team's most recent loss came against University of Minnesota Duluth in a 2-0 loss. The Dragons fell to 2-9 this season and 2-7 in NSIC play. The Dragons are led by Carlie Jo Gamrath and Tomoni Nishiara with two goals each. Jessica Dallman follows behind with one goal this season.
