BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Thursday morning the NSIC announced its All-Academic teams for the 2018 fall season, and 73 Augustana student-athletes were honored by the conference. Augustana's 73 student-athletes honored is the most of any school in the NSIC.

Augustana placed six from men's cross country, 14 from women's cross country, 28 from football, 17 from soccer and eight from volleyball on the NSIC's list.

To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity or traveling team and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Furthermore, the athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her institution (true freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.

New this year, the NSIC will highlight the all-academic team members with a 3.60 or higher GPA on the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence. This fall, 36 of Augustana's 72 All-Academic team members are part of the All-Academic Team of Excellence. The Vikings had five student-athletes (Kirby Hora, Claire Boersma, Julia Megazzini, Rachel Rairdon, Leah Seivert) with a 4.0 GPA.
