SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Opening up a three-game homestand, the No. 14 Augustana women's basketball team  used a balance scoring effort and up-tempo style of play to cruise past Minnesota Crookston 86-54 on Saturday.The victory was the Vikings six straight win and pushes their record to 11-1 (4-0 NSIC). The Golden Eagles fall to 7-3 (2-2 NSIC).

Augustana was led by the reigning NSIC South Player of the Week, Shelby Selland. The senior finished the game with a career-high 27 points and 14 rebounds. "I'm proud of our effort tonight, it all goes back to the team, I was opened and knocked down shots but it is just so fun to be surrounded by so many good players." With a 3rd quarter jumper, Selland also recorded her 1,000 career point at Augustana.
 
Augustana also saw Lynsey Prosser and Vishe' Rabb hit double-figures, Prosser finished with 13 points and Rabb with 15.

Through the Vikings six game win streak, they are averaging more than 84 points per game. Augustana has won every game by at least 8 points, and on average, are outscoring their opponents by more 22 points per game.

Although the Golden Eagles Isy Odor scored the first bucket of the afternoon, the Vikings took control from the games opening minutes. First, Abby Hora hit a jumper to tie it up the next time down the court and then Selland started to find her Rhythm. The Letcher, S.D. native finished the first quarter with 10 points and 10 rebounds and gave the Vikings a 20-7 lead.

Selland's double-double in the 1st first quarter was the fastest in Viking history since they switched to quarters instead of halves.

The Vikings second quarter started out hot again, scoring 15 quick points by the media timeout. Selland found herself with five second quarter points, giving her 15 going into the half. Prosser and Janelle Shiffler both added in five points in the first 20 minutes of action.

By half, the Vikings headed to the locker room with six in the scoring column. Augustana went 15-43 (34.9%) from the field and 7-16 from beyond the arc (43.8%) in the 1st.

The Vikings started the 3rd quarter strong, forcing five turnovers that led to seven points. In total, the Vikings tenacious full court pressure caused forced 22 turnovers leading to a remarkable 32 points. The Vikings also totaled 40 points in the paint on Saturday.

The Vikings and Golden Eagles started the final quarter trading baskets, but a three point bucket from McKenzie Zilverberg and stop by the Vikings put the game on ice. The Vikings went onto score 24 points in the fourth quarter, which was the highest of the afternoon.

The Vikings finished the afternoon going 34 of 77 from the field (44.2%) and 9 of 21 from three point land (42.9).

The Vikings now return to action Sunday at 12:30 p.m. vs. Bemidji State at Sioux Falls Arena.
