SIOUX FALLS – Fresh off a pair of doubleheader sweeps at Bowden Field to close the home schedule, the Augustana softball team hits the road for the final six games of the season, starting with a midweek affair at Sioux Falls on Wednesday.
 
The Vikings, who enter the week with a 33-9 overall record and a 15-3 mark in the NSIC, play a doubleheader with the Cougars at Sherman Park on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
 
Sioux Falls starts the week at 25-16 and 10-8 after dropping its last five games. The Cougars split at Concordia-St. Paul to start the week, and then got swept by both Minnesota Duluth on Sunday and St. Cloud State on Monday.
 
Augustana and St. Cloud State clash on Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn., at 1 p.m. The Huskies, who play at Minnesota Crookston on Wednesday, enter the week with a 30-15 record, 16-8 in the NSIC after sweeping both Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls last week.
 
The regular season comes to a close for the Vikings on Sunday at Minnesota Duluth, which swept USF, and then split with SMSU last week to start the week with at 34-9 overall and 16-4 in conference play. The Vikings and Bulldogs start Sunday at noon.
 
Following this week's action the Vikings return to Sioux Falls for the NSIC Tournament, hosted by both Augustana at Bowden Field and Sioux Falls at Sherman Park. The conference announces the pairings after the completion of all games on Sunday.
