SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana University announced the hiring of Elliot Nathan as its new Director of Athletic Communications, Director of Athletics Josh Morton made public Tuesday.

Nathan comes to Augustana after spending the last five years in television, most recently as the weekend sports anchor at KSFY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Sioux Falls. As the weekend sports anchor at KSFY, Nathan shot, edited and produced content, while serving as the primary presenter of weekend sports. Prior to his time in television, Nathan served as a morning host and play-by-play announcer at KOJM / KPQX in Harve, Montana.  

"These are exciting times for Augustana Athletics and Elliot will be a great addition to our team," Morton said. "His media experience in the Sioux Falls market and storytelling ability will be a big asset as we continue to tell our story and the the story of our student-athletes."

Nathan has extensive experience at numerous levels of communication, including storytelling through video and written content and maintaining multiple social media channels.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the tremendous staff and athletic department at Augustana University," Nathan said. "Starting with the leadership of President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin and Director of Athletics Josh Morton, Augustana continues to set the bar in regards to both academic and athletic success. I look forward to the opportunity to not only grow both personally and professionally, but also immediately contribute to and help enhance the Vikings athletic department."

Nathan begins his role with Augustana on Wednesday, August 15.
