SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana volleyball team continues its conference season at home by hosting #18 Wayne State Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. The Vikings (5-5, 0-2 NSIC) will look to snap a three-match losing streak.

The Series
Tuesday's meeting between the Wildcats and Vikings will be the 43rd of the all-time series with Wayne State. The Vikings lead the series with a record of 24-19. In the last five meetings, the Wildcats have won three-of-five matches against the Vikings.
 
The Teams
Wayne State: The Wildcats enter Tuesday's match 8-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference. The AVCA Dll Top-25 Coaches Poll released a poll Monday afternoon placing the Wildcats at 18th in the nation. The team was previously ranked at 19. The Wildcats also landed Tarrin Beller as the offensive NSIC Player of the Week. Beller tied the school record with 13 blocks in the 3-2 win at Sioux Falls. She also averaged 2.10 kills and 2.00 blocks per set in that match.
 
The Wildcats are led by the NSIC Offensive Player of the week Beller, she leads with 2.61 kills per set. Setter Megan Gebhardt leads the way with 350 assists, averaging 9.72 per set. Leading the Wildcats defense is Haley Kauth. Kauth has 166 digs in 36 sets. The Wildcats (8-2) have outscored their opponents 819-693.
 
Augustana: The Vikings host the Wildcats after falling in their last three matches. The Vikings began conference play by dropping matches against Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls.
 
The Vikings are led on offense by senior Courtney Place who totaled 166 kills through 10 matches and ranks fourth in the NSIC with a 4.37 per set average. She is followed by Grace Haberland (73), Izzy Sommers (71), and Abby Benson (32).
 
On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings backcourt is led by senior Kaylea Ahrens who has 162 digs, she is averaging 4.26 digs/set. Next in line for the Vikings defense is Place, she has 100 on the season, which is 2.63 digs/set.
