BOX SCORE MINOT, N.D. -- Sunday afternoon in North Dakota, the Augustana women's soccer kept rolling and stretched their winning streak to six games with a 1-0 overtime win over Minot State. After a scoreless regulation, the teams headed into overtime and with 43 seconds left, forward Grace Behm put the ball past the keeper in the left corner of the net. The game-winner is her first goal of the season and sixth of her career, and was assisted by freshman Alexis Legg. The Vikings improve to 6-1-1 on the season (5-0 NSIC).

Augustana Vikings head coach Brandon Barkus says there is something special happening with this team right now, but there are still things that the Vikings need to improve on. "We need to be better in front of our goal, but our relentless attitude to work is pretty tremendous," Said Barkus. "This is a tough road trip and to come out of it 2-0, with two shutouts, two overtime wins and six total points is huge and I couldn't be more excited."

Yet again the game was a defensive battle for both squads. The reigning NSIC Goalie of the Week, Claudia Pueschner, displayed another great showing with her fifth shutout of the season. The Apple Valley, Minn. native has now recorded shutouts in four straight games. She saved four shots in this shutout, but eight shots were taken overall by the Beavers. Overall she has faced 48 shots on goal this season. Pueschner's goals against average of .653 ranks second in the NSIC in 2018.

On offense, the Vikings took 14 shots. Coming into this NSIC matchup the Vikings averaged 18 shots per match. However, they only need one shot in overtime to solidify the win. With a minute left, Behm used the advantage of the Beavers goalie, Erin Rafferty, coming out of the net and put the ball past her in the left corner for the game-winner.

Augustana now returns to Sioux Falls for two NSIC matchups at Morstad Field. The Vikings take on the Bulldogs from Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. and again on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. vs the Huskies of St. Cloud State.
