BOX SCORE SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Vikings six-game winning streak was snapped earlier today in a close match against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, with a final score of 1-0.
The Vikings fell behind 46 minutes into the game when the Bulldogs' Natalie St. Martin slid the ball past
Claudia Pueschner. Despite several chances on both sides, neither team was able to reach the net the remainder of the game.
Augustana head coach
Brandon Barkus was disappointed with the result today after the two big wins on the road last weekend. "It's just a disappointment to not come to our home field and take care of business," Barkus said.
The lone goal scored by the Bulldogs marks the first goal scored on the Vikings in four games. The last goal scored on the Vikings came against the Wayne State Wildcats on (put date here - September 29th?), a Vikings win in  double overtime, 2-1.
With the 19 total shots in the game, the Vikings put seven on net, including three by junior
Grace Behm.
In net,
Claudia Pueschner made 11 saves on the game. In six conference games played, the 2-time NSIC Goalie of the Week has maintained a remarkable .950 save percentage. Of the 62 shots Pueschner has faced between the posts during conference play, only two have found their way into the net.
The Vikings will return to Morstad Field to take on the Huskies of St. Cloud State Sunday to wrap up their weekend. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start.
