BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana running back
Jarod Epperson was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week the league announced Monday. The true freshman totaled 236 all-purpose yards in the Vikings' dominating win over Minot State.

Epperson, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, rushed for a season-high 156 yards and totaled a season-best 82 yards receiving. He scored two touchdowns on Saturday, first a 94-yard rush then an 82-yard reception. The 94-yard rush is the second-longest in school history.

Not playing the fourth quarter, Epperson finished the day with six rushes, averaging 26 yards per carry. He now ranks ninth in the nation with an average of 7.1 yards per carry.

Through eight weeks, Augustana has earned five NSIC Player of the Week awards by five different players.

The Vikings, 6-2 on the year, look for their fourth-straight win on Saturday hosting Concordia-St. Paul at 1 p.m.
