SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Saturday marks Military Appreciation and First Responder's Day at Kirkeby-Over Stadium as Augustana football hosts Concordia-St. Paul for a 1 p.m. kickoff. All fans and community members who are currently serving or are retired members of the military or a first responder may show proper ID at the ticket booths to receive a free ticket to the game.
 
As part of their game sponsorship, fans are encouraged to stop by the Midco Tailgate Tent in Augieville before the game. The first 1,500 fans at the tailgate will receive a stocking hat, plus fans can sign up for a chance to win a 50" TV. Midco is also providing a free tailgate meal, starting at 11 a.m. in Augieville.
 
In addition, the Flags Honoring America display will make its debut at Kirkeby-Over Stadium as a partnership between Augustana University, Maximum Promotions, First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard.
 
In collaboration with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), Augustana has invited local WWP injured service members to Saturday's game to be honored on the field at halftime.
 
Being included in game-day activities can provide life-changing experiences for veterans during their recovery and transition back to civilian life. For some attendees, these events may be their first time outside of the house since incurring their injuries or meeting others who've undergone similar military experiences. Seeing the support of their community can provide the motivation they need to keep pushing forward.

More than 52,000 service members have been physically wounded during the military conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. An estimated 400,000 more are living with the invisible wounds of war, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depression, and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
