ALVA, Okla. -- Seniors
Peyton Stenzel and
Morgan Moe have been named to the Division II All-Central Region women's soccer second team, the Conference Commissioners Association announced Wednesday. The regional teams are voted on by sports information directors from within each region.
Stenzel, hailing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, controls the midfield for the Vikings and has started all 20 games this season. She's logged 1,403 minutes of action, notched a goal and is second on the team in assists with seven. Her 45 shots are the third-most on the team.
Moe, a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native has been the backbone of a dominant Vikings' defense all season. The senior leads the team in minutes played with 1,765 and has only sat 71 minutes all season. Offensively, she scored the game-winning goal against Minnesota Duluth and added an assist against SMSU.
The NSIC garnered 11 selections to the two teams while the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association) had eight and the GAC (Great American Conference) had seven.
Moe and Stenzel look to continue their exceptional play Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Central Oklahoma in Mankato, Minnesota, at 1 p.m.
