INDIANAPOLIS — The Augustana women's soccer team (13-3-1) moved up to No. 4 in this week's Central Region rankings after a 1-1 weekend that featured a victory over previously undefeated No. 15 Concordia-St. Paul (now No. 20). 

With its win against Concordia-St. Paul, Augustana now has two wins over teams in the top nine of the Central Region. The other Viking win was a 1-0 contest against UMary.

Five of the teams in the top nine are from the NSIC and if the season ended today, four of those teams would make the NCAA Tournament. 

The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship provides a 56-team, single-elimination tournament.The Central Region will qualify seven of the 56 teams that make the NCAA tournament. The winners of the eight regions will square off, before they head to the final four, hosted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at Highmark Stadium hosted by Slippery Rock University and SportsPITTSBURGH.

The Central Region is made up of 35 teams from the NSIC, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Great American Conference.
