ORLANDO, Fla. -- Both the men's and women's tennis teams began action in Florida on Monday at the USTA National Campus. The women picked up a 4-2 win over Northwood while the men dropped two matches, 4-0 to Northwood and 7-0 to Post University.

Women
The Viking women (12-0, 9-0 NSIC) started off their spring trip with a win to extend their win streak to 12 games on the season.

In doubles action, Kornelia Staniszewska and Laura Arce Vieyra teamed up to take down Tatyana Pavych and Carol Arnez-Mercado 6-1 in No. 1 Doubles to pick up the only doubles win on the day.

In singles play, Staniszewska defeated Pavych 6-2, 6-1 to extend her streak to 28 matches. In No. 2 Singles Arce Vieyra defeated Arnez-Mercado by retirement to pick up her 10th win of the season and in No. 3 Singles Taylor Jackson took down Kate Berestovenko 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.

Rounding out the day was Anca Rusu in No.5 Singles. The sophomore picked up a 6-4, 2,6 12-10 win over Iryna Trystan for her ninth win of the season.

Men
The Viking men (4-6) dropped their first two matches of the spring trip, a 4-0 defeat to Northwood and a 7-0 loss to Post University.

Unable to pick up a win in doubles or singles play against Northwood, the Vikings picked up a No. 3 Doubles win against Post University. Austin VanDerWeide and North Knewtson defeated Ivan Rajevac and Sam Urban 6-4 to earn their sixth win of the season.

Both the men and women's team are back in action on Tuesday with women facing off against the University of Charleston at 7 p.m. and the men look back to get in the win column against Belhaven at 8 a.m on Tuesday morning.
