LAS VEGAS, NV. -- Playing their second-straight tournament in the Nevada desert, the Augustana men's golf team finished strong in the two-round Winona State Invite at the Stallion Mountain Golf Course.
The Vikings opened with a day-one 311, shot a final-round 351, and finished +86 for the event. Augustana ended the week in ninth place overall with a score 662.
Indianapolis University won the event with a two-day total of 609 (+33).
Individually, NSIC preseason player of the year
Jacob Lee had the best showing for Augustana. The Parkston native shot a day-one 73, and sat in 12th place after round one. He fired a final-round 86 and finished tied for 15 with a score of 159 (+15).
Hunter Von Bergen (167) and
Sam Sutcliffe (168) finished back-to-back tied for 39th and 41st, respectively. Von Bergen, who finished +23, carded a day-one 76, and Sutcliffe shot a round-one 80 and finished at +24.
Cole Crawford finished 46 at +25 and
Carter Kranz finished in 49th (+28) to mark the top-five finishers for Augustana.
Michael Tait of Rocky Mountain College (MT) won the event with a score of +5.
The Vikings next action is set for the Upper Iowa invite, March 30-31 in Waterloo, Iowa.
