TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Augustana women's tennis team (13-2, 9-0 NSIC) was back in action after a week off from their spring trip to Florida. The No. 26 Vikings fell in a 5-2 decision to No. 8 Washburn on Saturday afternoon in Topeka, Kan.

Coming off her third NSIC Player of the Week honor this season, senior Kornelia Staniszewska dominated yet again on the courts defeating Jacqueli Engelbrecht 6-2, 6-3 in No. 1 Singles to extend her regular season match win streak to 31 games. She is now 13-0 on the season in singles action.

Junior Taylor Jackson picked up her 13th win of the season with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 win over Logan Morrissey in No. 3 Singles to pick up the second point for the Vikings.

Over in doubles action, the No. 3 ranked doubles duo in the nation of Staniszewska and Laura Arce Vieyra defeated the No. 6 ranked doubles duo of Alexis Czapinski and Morrissey 7-6 (7-5). The duo is now 13-0 on the season in No. 1 Doubles play. The Vikings weren't able to pick up another win in doubles action to get the doubles point on the afternoon.
