KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Augustana men's golf team finished up the NSIC Championships in Kansas City, Kan. this past weekend with an eighth-place finish. Winona State won the tournament with a score of +18 (870) and earned the NSIC's automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional on May 21-25.

The Vikings carded a +20, 304, on Saturday which helped stay in eighth place on the final day. Augustana totaled a three-round score of +90, 942 in which they finished the three-day tournament in eighth place.

Jacob Lee led the team and placed 16 in a field of 50 total golfers after he turned in a three-round score of 228. He finished at +15 (79, 75, 74). Carter Kranz who placed tied for 24th place also improved off his first-day score of 80 with a 77 and 76 on the final two days and finished at +20 (233).

Cole Crawford tied for 53rd place after moving up in the previous round. He fired off a round of 84, 77 and 74 to total +22, 235 during the championships. Alex Stanz trimmed four strokes off his score from yesterday and finished 41st with a +33, 246 (82, 84, 80). Sam Sutcliffe finished in 48th place with a three-round score of 261 for +48 (88, 87, 86).
