SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With an eye toward 2019-20, Augustana Athletics annual fund drive to support its student-athletes has launched. The A-Club, the annual fundraising arm of the athletics department, has begun the renewal process for current members and is actively seeking new members to provide their financial support of Augustana student-athletes.
As part of its goal to enhance the student-athlete experience, Viking Athletics has instituted some exciting changes to the A-Club for the coming year.
- 50% off season tickets for football & basketball – perhaps the biggest change this coming year is the separation of tickets from the membership price. A-Club members will still have access to the best seat locations, however the price of the ticket is in addition to the membership. A-Club members will pay half of what the general public will pay.
- The athletics department has announced a new three-year pledge to not raise the membership level dollar amount and in fact, these are the first significant changes to the A-Club since 2009 when AU joined the NSIC.
- Viking Pass - FREE admission via a new Viking Pass to not only volleyball and wrestling but baseball, softball and women's soccer as well. The Viking Pass will also serve as the admission into pre-game Football tailgates.
- Increased member communications by email – throughout the year members will hear directly from Director of Athletics Josh Morton and head coaches from various sports. (update your contact information here)
"Our A-Club members play a crucial role in our pursuit of excellence across all 19 sport programs," said Athletic Director
Josh Morton. "This new structure of the A-Club and exciting new benefit opportunities will give our members access to the best seat locations to cheer on our student-athletes and most importantly allow us to fund the student-athlete experience at a more appropriate level. We are asking more of our A-Club members because our student-athletes deserve it."
As Augustana basketball moves to the Sanford Pentagon for conference home games next year, Viking Priority Points will provide a transparent, consistent and equitable process for seat selection. The June 30 deadline to renew or become a new member is crucial to making that seat selection a timely process and fans must renew by that date to guarantee their place in that process. The new $5,000 Champions Level will be the first group prioritized to select their seats.
Among the new benefits offered to members at varying levels include a VIP Sideline Experience at Augustana football, where members can experience the excitement of the game up close and personal on the sidelines. Named and reserved parking at both Kirkeby-Over Stadium and at the Sanford Pentagon will provide the closest parking at the venues and all members regardless of level will continue to have their name listed in the game programs and online.
