Four Vikings Selected to NFCA DII All-Region Teams

Kadrlik, Eisenreich, Mickschl, and Pardo earn the national honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 15 Augustana softball team landed four selections on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region central team. Maggie Kadrlik (C) earned a selection onto the first team, and Ashley Mickschl (P/UT) Samantha Eisenreich (2B) and Mary Pardo (OF) are second-team honorees. 

During her phenomenal senior season, Kadrlik earns her first NFCA All-Region first-team honor, and the second of her career (second-team, 2016). Kadrlik leads the Vikings with 60 RBI and a .508 on-base percentage and is second with 71 hits. The utility player is slugging an outstanding .850, which also leads the team and ranks in the top-10 for a single-season at Augustana. Kadrlik was an honorable mention NFCA all-American in 2016. 

An NFCA All-America pick last year, Mickschl makes it back-to-back season with national honors. Standing in the pitcher/utility spot, The sophomore leads the Vikings with a 24-5 record, 1.60 ERA and 161 strikeouts this season. From the plate, Mickschl has more than 40 runs and has 11 doubles, four doubles, and four home runs. 

Earning NFCA All-Region honors for the first time in her career, Eisenreich is a second-team selection. Hitting a career-high .367 with six home runs and 38 RBI, the second-baseman is also strong in the field with a .973 fielding percentage. Eisenreich was also recently named a D2CAA All-Region first team selection.

The reigning NSIC Freshman of the Year, Mary Pardo earns her first NFCA All-Region honor. The Minnesota native leads the team and NSIC with 15 home runs this season and is second on the team with a .688 slugging percentage. Playing and starting in all 60 games, Pardo leads the Vikings with 72 hits this year. 

The Vikings are making their third straight appearance in the NCAA tournament and open up central region play on Thursday vs. Missouri Western at 4 p.m. in Winona, Minn. 

About the NFCA:

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region teams are comprised of 209 student-athletes from 118 programs. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2019 NFCA Division II All-America squads. Topping the charts with four first-team plaudits is Kutztown out of the Atlantic Region.
