SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana men's basketball head coach
Tom Billeter has announced the signing of 6'1" guard Matt Todd. A native of Monticello, Minn., Todd was one of the most decorated players coming out of Monticello high school in 2018. During his senior campaign, Todd was third-team All-Metro, a Mr. Basketball Finalist, and the Mississippi 8 Conference MVP. Todd owns three Monticello High School career records including scoring (2,599 points), Assists (601), and steals (380).
Last season, Todd played for head coach Chad Boudreau at Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. He helped lead the Cougars to a 23-6 overall record including a spot in the region championship game. Todd averaged 10.5 points, four assists, and three rebounds per game.
Coach Billeter is looking forward to Matt joining the Vikings.
"Matt is an excellent offensive player," Billeter said. "He has terrific court awareness and is a rare combination of both the ability to score yet set his teammates up for the assist. He is perfect for our style of play and we are thrilled to add him to our Augustana basketball family."
Augustana finished the 2018-19 season 18-11 and tied for the NSIC South Division Championship. Recently, the Vikings announced that starting in 2019-20, they will play all their home contests at the
Sanford Pentagon.
