Summer Spotlight: Erin Schneiderhan

The first installment of the Summer Soccer Spotlight focuses on Erin Schneiderhan

As the 2019 soccer season approaches, GoAugie.com spoke with five Vikings who spent their summers with internships around the area. This five-part series will run once a week for four weeks leading up to the team's report date of Monday, August 19th.
Senior Erin Schneiderhan has been a key component to Augustana Soccer for three years while working towards her Communication Business Major. After logging a career-high in games played and minutes this last season, she has decided to dedicate more time to Augustana this summer. This time, however, it will not be on the soccer field, but in the Marketing Department for Peggy Kapusta across the street. Take a look at what she has been up to this summer.

What type of internship do you have this summer?
This summer I am interning in the Marketing department at Augie. I work for Peggy Kapusta, who is the director of online communications. She is brilliant and has taught me so much about the ins and outs of AU marketing. I spend most of my time working on the website, including posting events and editing pages. I've loved getting to work for Augie and being able to help inform others about how many amazing things happen on campus and in Sioux Falls!

What are some of the challenges with the internship?
The biggest challenge was navigating the program used for the website. There are a lot of little tricks that can truly make or break the page being worked on. The program took some getting used to, but thankfully I'm getting the hang of it!

What do you do for fun in your spare time?
This is my first summer staying in Sioux Falls, therefore, I knew it would be my last chance to work at my absolute favorite place in town. So after I finish my internship, I spend a few nights a week working at B&G Milkyway. I am still not the best at making cones, but everyone who works there is extremely kind and helpful which makes every night a blast!
If I'm not working, I'm probably spending time with my teammates or at B&G as a customer.

What are you most excited for about this fall?
Going into my senior soccer season, I am most excited for all of the irreplaceable moments with my teammates and of course, one last round of cash bus! I am incredibly honored to be part of a team with such passion and kind hearts. I still can't believe that this is my final season, so with that being said, I am most excited for one more season filled with unforgettable moments, truly jaw-dropping memories and possibly a lot of tears!

Part two of the series will feature Alexis Legg and be available on Wednesday, July 24.
