SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The celebration continues for the 2019 DII Softball National Champions. Augustana Softball, who claimed the program's second-ever national title last spring, will officially unveil their 2019 National Championship ring on Friday, Oct. 11 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. The event will take place in the church's gathering space.
The ceremony, which is open to the public, is set to begin at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served with the purchase of a $12 ticket and can be purchased
here. All parties are asked to RSVP by Friday, Oct. 4th
The celebration will be a time to not only reflect on the Vikings historical season, but also reunite with the 2019 senior class and Augustana alumni. The weekend also marks the 2019 Viking Days and homecoming parade.
The 2019 Augustana softball team finished with one of the most successful seasons in the program's history. The Vikings broke nine school records, won the NSIC Tournament title, knocked off No. 2 Winona State in regionals, No. 1 Central Oklahoma in super regionals, and claimed the 2019 DII National Championship with a pair of 6-4 wins over Texas A&M Kingsville. The Vikings finished the year with a program-record 61 wins. Â
