BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Senior defender Morgan Moe has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against UMary and Minot State last weekend. Moe has won the award twice now as she was recognized last season as well. 

Moe has been the backbone of the Vikings defense this season and played all 90 minutes against the Marauders on Friday and followed with 90 more against the Beavers on Sunday. Augustana recorded shutouts in both of those games and has recorded four shutouts on the year (three consecutively).

Moe is the only Viking who has played all 650 minutes on the season and is a large reason why the Vikings have four shutouts. Moe and company have also held teams to just 8 goals, 40 shots-on-goal, and 69 shots. 

Moe has also contributed offensively on the season with four shots (one on goal) and an assist against Southwest Minnesota State on Sept. 20. 

The senior defender will look to continue a strong defensive campaign against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State this weekend.
