SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana senior Jake Lacina added to his postseason awards list as he was named to the D2Football.com All-America Team. Lacina earned second-team accolades by the publication. Prior to the start of the season, Lacina was named a Preseason All-America selection by D2Football.com.

The native of St. Paul, Minnesota, has already been named the Rimington Trophy Award winner and a First Team All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

The team captain started all 45 games of his career at center and helped lead the Vikings to the second-most wins in program history in 2019. Augustana tallied a 9-3 record this past season, advancing to the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the fifth time in school history. Lacina was at center for all nine wins, blocking for an offense that ranked 19th in the nation in tackles for loss allowed.

Lacina concludes his career as a two-time first-team All-NSIC selection while helping the Vikings set single-season records for total offense, passing yards and touchdowns. In 2018, he helped Augustana lead the NSIC in sacks allowed.

Adding to his trophy case, Lacina accepts the Rimington Trophy on Jan. 18 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
