SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana Athletics auction has moved online for 2020 with the Virtual Auction taking place Sunday, Oct. 4 through Friday, Oct. 9. To bid, head to augie20.givesmart.com.
 
"This is a signature event for Augustana Athletics and while I'm disappointed we couldn't hold the auction in person, the purpose is the same – support our student-athletes and give them the opportunity to have a life-changing experience," Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. "Since we aren't able to compete just yet, we want the auction to be a chance for Vikings from all over to come together for a great cause, and to have it run during Viking Days makes it even better."
 
Online bidding opens at 5 p.m. on Sunday and will close at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. As the time winds down on Friday, the GoAugie Facebook page will begin a live video to wrap up the auction week beginning at 6:15 p.m.
 
Over 125 items will be up for bid during the auction including a custom Augustana pool table, cabin weekend stays, one-of-a-kind Augustana décor and more.
 
New for the 2020 Virtual Auction is a $ports $howdown, a competition amongst all teams at Augustana to help raise funds for each individual team. A friendly competition, the top three fundraising teams will have a portion of donations received matched by a generous donor.
 
To donate specifically for the $ports $howdown, head to augie20.givesmart.com, click on 'View Items' and find the icon for the sport you wish to donate to. All funds raised during the Virtual Athletics Auction go directly to supporting Augustana student-athletes.
