SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Lucy Bartee has signed her national letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Augustana, head coach Jennifer Jacobs announced Thursday. Bartee, a native of Kearney, Nebraska, is a 6-1 setter from Kearney High School.
Fresh off completing her senior year, Bartee had 852 assists (9.7/set) and tallied 40 aces. On the defensive side, she tallied 233 digs and 42 blocks. She also helped Kearney High School to District Runner-ups.
Bartee was named NSAA NCPA Academic All-State and Academic All-Conference.
"We are so excited to have Lucy join our team," Jacobs said. "She is a very talented setter, steady-eddie on the court and has a very-high ceiling. She reminds me of Augustana Hall of Fame setter Angie Hummel in stature and the way the ball floats out of her hands. She's going to do great things here!"
Bartee plans to major in engineering physics while at Augustana.
